Week 2

                                 Conceptual Models

Conceptual  Model is a part of conceptualizing interaction. For designing an interface user’s conceptual model is very useful. Actually it helps to create a clear understating of a model or product and to make the model considerable.

Conceptual model means “a description of the proposed system in terms of a set of integrated ideas and concepts about what it should do, behave and look like, that will be understandable by the users in the manner intended.”

Before making a conceptual model of a product, first of all we need to know user’s usability and their needs or requirements. Another vital thing is that the designable product has to be comprehensible. Usually a design procedure settle on that what type of interaction style user should have to use like it can be used as a menu types of system or it can be a commands etc. after deciding a proper way of interacting with an interactive system, then we can think about an actual result. There are various kinds of conceptual models which have different sub objects also. T o make a proper model we can use conceptual metaphor. It provides similar ideas for the conceptual model but different concept which is very easy to understand for the user.

These are some conceptual Product designs:

                              Conceptual design of iPhone 5.
From this picture, we can get an idea that how iPhone 5 feature will be, what are the functions will be included etc. so, we can say that it is a conceptual metaphor like similknowledge of iPhone 4 but new concepts.

LG HiFi is both a concept headset and a phone and it turns from one design to the other easily.
